Proton chemical shifts for t-butyl derivatives

Abstract

Chemical shifts are tabulated for 57 compounds containing tertiary butyl groups in carbon tetrachloride solution. The contributions of electronegativity and of magnetic anisotropy to the chemical shifts of tertiary butyl and methyl derivatives are discussed qualitatively.
