Complexes of some pyridine N-oxides and chloroanilines with zinc(II) halides

Abstract

Complexes of pyridine N-oxide, 2-, 3-, 4-methyl-, 2,6-dimethyl-pyridine N-oxides and m- and p-chloroanilines with zinc(II) chloride, bromide, and iodide have been shown by molecular conductance, and i.r. (down to 222 cm.–1) spectral measurements to have tetrahedral structures in the solid state. Assignments for the Zn–O, Zn–N and Zn–X modes have also been made.
