Complexes of organoaluminium compounds. Part III. Reactions of diethylamides with ammonia, amines, and methanol

Abstract

The compounds Et2AlNR12(R = H, alkyl) react with amines R22NH to give derivatives Et2AlNR22 under mild conditions if R22N preceeds R12N in the series: H2N > HMeN > HButN > Me2N. The methylamido-compound, Et2AlNHMe was isolated as a stable trimer and the t-butylamido-compound Et2AlNHBut as a dimer. Mass spectra are discussed. The derivatives (EtAlNMe)8 and (EtAlNBut)4 are described.
