Electron spin resonance spectra of chromium, iron, nickel, copper, and metal-free phthalocyanins reduced by sodium in tetrahydrofuran and in hexamethylphosphoramide
Abstract
Chromium, iron, nickel, copper, and metal-free phthalocyanins have been reduced by sodium in tetrahydrofuran and in hexamethylphosphoramide. In each case, several reduction products were formed. Nitrogen hyperfine-structure was observed in reduced iron phthalocyanin, whereas both chromium and nitrogen hyperfine-structure was observed in reduced chromium phthalocyanin. The results are compared with those for related systems and a qualitative energy-level scheme is used to systematise the information.
