A common intermediate for 1,2-phenyl migration from phosporus to carbon. An alternative reaction pathway for “Wittig type” phosphonium betaines
Abstract
The formation of 2-substituted diphenyl-1-phenylethylphosphine oxides from phosphonium betaines, vinylphosphonium salts, or from the reactions of triphenylphosphine with acetylenes and water have been shown to proceed via 2-substituted triphenylvinylphosphonium hydroxides.
