Studies on dehydro-L-ascorbic acid arylosazones. Part I

Abstract

The δ rather than the γ-lactone structure is proposed for dehydro-L-ascorbic acid phenylosazone. This is supported by its failure to react with periodate and by its i.r. and n.m.r. spectra. Acetates and benzoates of dehydro-L-ascorbic acid arylosazones are described.
