Synthesis and spectra of 1-arylpyrazolemonocarboxylic acids

Abstract

Condensation of 2,4-dioxohexenoates (I) with arylhydrazines (II) led to 1-aryl-3-ethoxycarbonyl-5-styrylpyrazoles (IIIa) which on oxidation and decarboxylation gave 1-phenylpyrazole-3-carboxylic acids (Vb).
