Some acetato–amine complexes of nickel(II), copper(II), and zinc(II)

Abstract

Preparations of a number of new acetato– and formato–amine complexes of nickel(II), copper(II), and zinc(II) are described, and the infrared spectra, metal-ion spectra, and magnetic susceptibilities are reported. The infrared spectra of a number of compounds containing varying types of co-ordinated acetate ions were compared and correlation found between the carboxyl stretching frequencies and structure. These correlations were used to assign structures to the new compounds.
