Heteronuclear double resonance: partially deuteriated ammonium bromide

Abstract

The sign and magnitude of the reduced coupling constant between nitrogen and hydrogen in a solution containing partially deuteriated ammonium bromide have been determined by heteronuclear double resonance techniques. The reduced coupling constant is shown to be positive relative to a negative value for KHH. Accurate values of the 14N and 1H chemical shifts of the deuteriated ammonium ions are also given.
