The qualitative analysis of complex carbonyl mixtures by thin-layer chromatography

Abstract

By the consecutive use of two thin-layer chromatographic systems, complex mixtures of 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazones are resolved into two fractions, one containing the derivatives of the aromatic carbonyl compounds and the other containing the aliphatic and terpene-type carbonyl compounds.

Systems are described for the separation of mixtures of aromatic derivatives.
