Nuclear magnetic resonance studies of 1-substituted 1,1,2-trifluoro-2-chloroethanes

Abstract

Chemical shifts and coupling constants are reported for a series of substituted ethanes of the type CF2QCFHCl, with Q = SiMe3, SiCl3, PMe2, PH2, OMe, SMe and Cl. A number of approximate emprical correlations between these spectral parameters and the electronegativity of the heteroatom of Q are presented.
