Perfluoroalkyl derivatives of nitrogen. Part XXII. The reaction of nitric oxide with hexafluoropropene

Abstract

Hexafluoropropene reacts slowly with nitric oxide in the gas phase to yield hexafluoro-1-nitro-2-nitrosopropane, hexafluoro-1,2-dinitropropane, and pentafluoronitroacetone, in relative amounts which depend upon the reaction conditions. Physical and chemical properties of the nitronitroso-compound and the nitro-ketone are described.
