Quantitative studies of homolytic hydrogen abstraction from aliphatic compounds: chain-transfer constants in the presence of styrene

Abstract

Chain-transfer constants for the polymerisation of styrene in the presence of compounds containing activated methylene or methine groups, and related substances, have been measured. The results are discussed in terms of the factors influencing homolytic abstraction of hydrogen from such molecules.
