Infrared spectra (400–135 cm.–1) of some thiourea co-ordination complexes

Abstract

Infrared spectra in the range 400–135 cm.–1 are reported for the complexes M(tu)4Cl2(tu = thiourea, M = Mn, Ni, Pd), [M(tu)2X2](M = Co,Zn, Cd; X = Cl, Br, I), and [Ni(tu)6]X2(X = Br, NO3). The metal–sulphur stretching vibrations were observed mainly in the range 300–200 cm.–1, while metal–halogen stretching frequencies for the tetrahedral complexes were similar to those of the MX42– ions. The assignment of some lower-energy bands is also considered.
