Vibrational and electronic spectra of transition-metal carbonyl complexes. Part I. Infrared spectra of decacarbonyldimanganese and its derivatives

Abstract

Precise infrared spectra of the compounds Mn2(CO)10 and Mn2(CO)8L2[L = PF3, P(OPh)3, AsPh3, PPh3, and PEt3] have been measured. Solvent effects in the C–O stretching region are observed and their significance discussed. Bands ascribed to M–C and C–O stretching vibrations correlate in the expected way.
