Novel two-component gels with multi-stimuli response: the gel–sol phase transition and color changes

Abstract

A smart two-component gelator system was prepared by a combination of D-gluconic acetal derivatives and terpyridyl moieties. The obtained two-component gel exhibits an efficient “naked eye” response to light and metal ions through gel–sol transition and color changes.
