Photothermal coupling electrolysis on Ni–W–B toward practical overall water splitting

Abstract

An overall water splitting device assembled using a photothermal effect coupled Ni–W–B/carbon cloth electrode could deliver a current density of 25 mA cm−2 at an ultralow cell voltage of 1.524 V without heating the whole system, which is comparable to its performance at elevated cell temperature of 50 °C.
