Preparation of porous (Ni,Co)3(BO3)2/Ni(OH)2 nanosheet networks as pseudocapacitor materials with superior performance†
Abstract
A porous (Ni,Co)3(BO3)2/Ni(OH)2 composite was prepared by one step chemical deposition in mild conditions. The morphology and structure observation showed that porous flocculence structures were built by ultrathin nanosheets which consist of amorphous structure and nanocrystals of 1–3 nm in size. The porous structure displays a large specific surface area of 237 m2 g−1 which is a rare value for nickel and cobalt compounds. Cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge–discharge tests show that a specific capacitance of 1982 and 1445 F g−1 at 0.5 A g−1 and 10 A g−1 was achieved, respectively. After 1000 cycles, capacitance retention reached up to 93.6% at a current density of 5 A g−1.
