Probing surface site heterogeneity through 1D and INADEQUATE31P solid state NMRspectroscopy of silica supported PMe3-Au(I) adducts

Abstract

Grafting of (Me3Si)2N-AuPMe3 on SiO2-(700) leads to the formation of [([triple bond, length as m-dash]SiO)Au-PMe3] located in different surface environments due to the presence or absence of adjacent siloxane bridges, as shown both by 31P solid state NMR and by its conversion into a mixture of [([triple bond, length as m-dash]SiO)Au-PMe3] and [([triple bond, length as m-dash]SiO)Au(PMe3)2] upon exposure to PMe3.
