One-pot synthesis of fluorescein based β-aminoglycosylketones and their biological and material applications

Abstract

Facile one-pot synthesis of fluorescein based β-aminoglycosylketones was carried out using 4,6-O-protected-C-glycoside, fluorescein-monoaldehyde and aromatic amines in the presence of potassium carbonate as a catalyst. Studies reveal that the use of potassium carbonate resulted in good yields. All these compounds were characterized using different spectral techniques. The gelation properties of these compounds were studied in regard to their molecular structure by HRTEM, DSC and powder XRD techniques. Fluorescein based β-aminoglycosylketones show moderate antioxidant activities with maximum inhibitory activity.
