The synergetic effect of N-doped graphene and silver nanowires for high electrocatalytic performance in the oxygen reduction reaction

Abstract

Silver nanowires were embedded in N-doped graphene sheets to increase the accessible surface area of N-doped graphene and facilitate O2 diffusion and OH transport by creating porous channels within the graphene sheets. Our study showed that N-doped graphene–silver nanowire composites exhibited better electrochemical properties in the oxygen reduction reaction than individual N-doped graphene and silver nanowires.
