Directing group assisted ZnI2-catalyzed cyclopropanation of indoles via 2-furylcarbenoids

Abstract

A directing group promoting the cyclopropanation of indoles with 2-furylcarbenoids has been developed. These carbenes are derived from enynones and cost-effective ZnI2 is employed as the catalyst for the efficient construction of various polycyclic compounds under mild reaction conditions.
