Triazole-linked polyamides and polyesters derived from cholic acid

Abstract

A new class of rigid polyamides and polyesters bearing amphiphilic bile acid functionalities in the main chain have been synthesized from the heterofunctional precursors by copper(I)-catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC). The polymers synthesized under homogeneous conditions show high thermal stabilities and Young's moduli, depending on their structure.
