Heterocyclic chemistry

Abstract

2008 offered several significant advances in the field of heterocyclic chemistry, with particular highlights including new methods for the asymmetric epoxidation of α,β-unsaturated cyclic enones, ketones and aldehydes; several new and significant contributions to the synthesis of pyridines, and advances in the gold catalysed and organocatalysed synthesis of heterocyclic compounds.
