Intertwined gababutin-based supramolecular double helix

Abstract

A self-assembling gababutin-based dipeptide possesses a supramolecular double helix framework in the crystal structure. The double helix propensity is rationalized by the substitution at the C-terminal residue of the Boc-Gbn-OH unit in the solid and solution state. A typical C9-turn of the dipeptide spontaneously self-assembles into a supramolecular double helical architecture.
