Reductive conversion of Cr(vi) to Cr(iii) over bimetallic CuNi nanocrystals at room temperature

Abstract

Bimetallic CuNi nanocrystals catalyze the conversion of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) very efficiently at room temperature in the presence of formic acid. Among the various compositions of CuNi nanocrystals synthesized by a modified hydrothermal method, Cu3Ni2 exhibited the best performance.
