Solution processed multilayer deep blue and white phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes using an alcohol soluble bipolar host and phosphorescent dopant materials

Abstract

Solution processed multilayer deep blue and white phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes were developed using an alcohol soluble bipolar host and dopant materials. An alcohol soluble red phosphorescent dopant material was synthesized by modifying red phosphorescent material with a polar picolinic acid ancillary ligand. The multilayer structure was fabricated by orthogonal coating of the alcohol soluble emitting materials on the aromatic soluble hole transport material. Solution processed deep blue and white phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes showed a high quantum efficiency of 13.8%.
