Improvement of the catalytic activity of PtRu bimetallic nanoparticles by a plasma treatment in their application of the ethanol electrooxidation

Abstract

A H2 plasma has been used to treat bimetallic PtRu nanoparticles on the plasma functionalized MWCNTs. These plasma treated PtRu nanoparticles are characterized with reduced oxidized species at their outermost perimeter and exhibit an improved catalytic activity in the ethanol electrooxidation and an enhanced tolerance to carbonaceous species.
