Generic synthesis of a variety of nanocrystalline metal oxides at room temperature

Abstract

Generic synthesis of nanocrystals of TiO2, ZrO2 and V2O5 under ambient conditions at room temperature is presented. For the first time, it employs a water–octyl-β-D-glucopyranoside–ethylene glycol diethyl ether based microemulsion and a unique set of glycolate precursors.
