Reactions of nitriles. Part V. Cyanoethylation of hydroxycoumarins

Abstract

Cyanoethylation of some hydroxycoumarins has been investigated. The cyanoethyl derivatives obtained were hydrolysed to the corresponding acids. Cyclisation of the acids gave benzodipyrans.
