Pectic substances from lucerne (Medicago sativa). Part III. Fractionation of polysaccharides extracted with water

Abstract

The polysaccharides which are extracted from lucerne with water have been fractionated by chromotography on diethylaminoethyl-Sephadex, and evidence has been obtained for the presence of neutral and acidic arabinogalactans of highly branched structure, and of a series of pectinic acids of varying ester content.
