Chemical properties and tautomeric behaviour of 1,4-dihydroxypyridazino[4,5-d]pyridazine

Abstract

Some derivatives of pyridazino[4,5-d]pyridazine havé been prepared from its dihydroxy-derivative (I). The tautomeric behaviour of 1,4-dihydroxypyridazino[4,5-d]pyridazine (I) and of its N-methyl derivative (VIII) has been investigated by reaction with diazomethane and by studies of i.r. and u.v. spectra. Oxidation of compound (I) with lead tetra-acetate, in the presence of butadiene or anthracene, gave 1 : 1 adducts.
