2-Fluoropyridine N-oxide and its reactions with amino-acid derivatives

Abstract

2-Fluoropyridine N-oxide has been prepared. Its reaction with α-amino-acids leads to a possible route for the stepwise N-terminal analysis of peptides. It can also be used for carboxy-activation, reaction with carboxylic acids leading to N-acyloxy-2-pyridones.
