Effect of acid catalyst on structural transformation and hydrolysis of cellulose in hydrothermal conditions

Abstract

The effect of H2SO4 on the crystalline-to-amorphous transformation and hydrolysis of cellulose in water at high temperatures and high pressures was revealed for the first time by using in situ high-resolution optical microscopy.
