Quantum phase-space formulation for inelastic scattering of atom–diatomic molecules using the density operator

Abstract

Using the phase-space representation of quantum mechanics developed by Torres-Vega and Frederick, the inelastic scattering of atom–diatomic molecules is described from the viewpoint of the density operator. Transition from the present formulation to the classical scattering of a three-body system is discussed.
