Non-appearance of multiple Rehm–Weller plots in the case of charge shift (A+*+ D → A˙+ D˙+) fluorescence quenching

Abstract

In order to elucidate the role of the Coulomb term in photoinduced electron transfer the fluorescence quenching by neutral donors of different chemical structures for two positively charged fluorescers has been investigated in CH3CN. A single Rehm–Weller plot was observed in contrast with the case of neutral fluorescers.
