Torsional spectroscopy by nuclear spin polarization losses in the rotating frame
Abstract
In some solids with moderately hindered torsional oscillators, such as NH4 and CH3 groups, it is possible to excite nuclear Zeeman-torsional transitions (double resonance). This type of resonance makes possible observations of resonant magnetization loss, torsional specific heat, torsion–phonon relaxation time and torsional energy spectrum. A brief description of these experiments is presented.
