Abstract
Double-resonance measurements on molecular jets lead to rate constants under low-temperature conditions which otherwise are not attainable due to condensation effects. Results are discussed for SF6, NH3 and C2H4 jets. The excitation by CO2 laser radiation and accompanying collisional energy transfer processes are monitored by Raman scattering (SF6) or by Franck-Condon laser absorption measurements. The data are compared with information obtained from dimer predissociation spectra.
