A [Cu16S10]4−cluster containing μ3- and μ4-sulfido ligands

Abstract

An anionic, “naked” copper sulfide cluster, [Cu16S10]4−, was synthesized by treating multi-copper starting materials with the hydrosulfide salt, (nBu4N)SH. The sixteen copper atoms in [Cu16S10]4− are arranged in a square gyrobicupola with eight μ3- and two μ4-sulfido ligands.
