New ring-closure reaction involving co-ordinated amide groups

Abstract

The condensation of [NiL1(HL1] [H2L1=2-(hydroxyimino)propanamide] with formaldehyde and methylamine in methanol soloution yields a stable anionic complex based on a tetradentate open-chain ligand and represents the first example of a ring-closure reaction featuring the co-ordinated amide groups.
