Formation of zinc(II)-bearing ferrites from γ-FeO(OH)

Abstract

Stoicheiometric zinc(II)-bearing ferrites were formed by increasing the reaction pH of a mixture of γ-FeO(OH), FeII, and ZnII ions to 9.0 (25 °C) and allowing it to stand for 60 h. This reaction is initiated by the adsorption of the FeII ion on γ-FeO(OH).
