Gas-chromatographic studies of cadmium–olefin complexes
Abstract
CdF2 deposited on a γ-alumina surface from aqueous HF solution has been found to interact sufficiently strongly with olefins and aromatic compounds to give very marked selective retardations of olefins and aromatic compounds when CdF2–Al2O3 is used as the stationary phase in a gas–solid chromatographic column. These interactions are considerably modified by competition with water vapour, and are much weaker with other cadmium salts investigated.
