Pt@SnOx/SiO2 catalysts with enhanced selectivity to allyl alcohol for acrolein hydrogenation

Abstract

A core–shell structure of Pt@SnOx/SiO2 was developed for the selective hydrogenation of acrolein. This structure significantly promoted the synergetic effect between Pt and SnOx for the selective hydrogenation of the C[double bond, length as m-dash]O bond in the presence of the C[double bond, length as m-dash]C bond, and showed high activity and selectivity to allyl alcohol.
