Development of a simplified model of dynamic exchange of cations in a thin layer of zeolite. Part 1. Exchange of Pb2+ ions from solution with Na+ ions from thin layers of zeolite A

Abstract

A model of the kinetics of a dynamic exchange of cations in solution with cations from thin layers of zeolite(s) is developed. The validity of the model is confirmed by the correlation between measured and calculated values of the concentrations of Pb2+ ions in both the layers of zeolite A and the lead nitrate solutions passed through the layers of zeolite A. For this purpose, the initial concentration of Pb2+ ions in the solutions, the mass of zeolite A in the layer and the flow rate of the solution through the layers of zeolite A were varied.
