Cold crystallization in the mixed system of adenine and thymine dodecyl derivatives

Abstract

The 1 : 1 mixture of adenine and thymine both substituted with dodecyl groups exhibited supercooling and heat storage phenomena including cold crystallization. The unique flexible π-conjugated cores formed through complementary hydrogen bonds with reverse Hoogsteen patterns induced the curious thermal behavior.
