Solvent-induced SC–SC transformation within the ZnII–triazole system: a promising MnO4 selective luminescent probe

Abstract

A series of coordination polymers based on the ligand tris(4-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)phenyl)amine (TTPA) have been developed. Amongst these, complexation with Zn2+ results in a 1D ladder complex. The solvent-induced SC–SC transformation within the Zn2+–triazole system has resulted in a unique solvate, generating {[Zn(TTPA)(NO3)2]·2CHBr3}n (4a). Compound 4a was tested for both cation and anion capture of important industrial pollutants. The luminescence properties of 4a indicated that it could be considered as a new triazole based selective luminescent probe for both Pb2+ and MnO4.
