Greener solid-state synthesis: stereo-selective [2 + 2] photodimerization of vitamin K3 controlled by halogen bonding

Abstract

Stereo-selective [2 + 2] photodimerization of vitamin K3 was achieved using coformers with ditopic halogen bond donors. These robust coformers are readily accessible and environmentally sustainable that can be isolated and further recycled by simple sublimation and condensation. Both preparation and purification of the photodimers are conducted in a solvent-free way.
