Nanostructured VO2 thin films via cathodic deposition

Abstract

A versatile and cost-effective electrochemical approach for VO2 thin film preparation is reported. Cathodic deposition is carried out potentiostatically at room temperature from an ethanolic solution of VOSO4 containing small amounts of water. Neither pH nor temperature control of the electrolyte is necessary. Nanostructured films of vanadium dioxide with typical thermochromic behaviour are obtained.
