Zwitterionic 2-(4-pyridyl)malondialdehyde sesquihydrate forms a helical, 3-D hydrogen-bonded lattice

Abstract

The title compound forms a novel hydrogen bond network combining helical and non-helical connectivity, comprised of alternate rows of coparallel left-handed and right-handed helices separated by additional 64-connected nodes.
