A temperature-responsive C2 wagging vibration in Sc2C2@Cs-C82

Abstract

The Raman spectra reveal molecular vibration information. Here we report a special temperature-dependent C2 wagging vibration at 225 cm−1 in Sc2C2@Cs-C82 by Raman spectroscopy and quantum-chemical calculations, which corresponds to the internal cluster motion in C82. This finding is of great importance in understanding the internal dynamics of metallofullerenes.
